Does it need an internet connection?+
No. Speech to text, cleanup and coaching all run on your Mac. The only time it goes online is to check for an update, and you approve every install.
Which Macs does it run on?+
Any Mac on macOS 26 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Apple’s on-device models do the heavy lifting, and if Apple Intelligence is off on your machine, Aurator still dictates and falls back to its rule-based cleanup.
Does it work in every app?+
It pastes into anything with a text field. For the few apps that block paste, there is a type-it-out mode that types the words instead.
What happens to my recordings?+
They stay in one folder on your Mac, next to your transcripts. You can switch recording off, delete any single one, or delete all of them and see exactly how much space you got back.
Can it learn the names I use?+
Yes. Add them to your dictionary once. Aurator also notices words it keeps getting wrong and suggests them to you.
Is there a subscription?+
